HR process examples

  • BASF has set itself global goals for the promotion of diversity in its management team. By 2021, we aim to raise the overall proportion of women in positions with disciplinary leadership responsibilities from today’s 19 % to 22 % – 24 % globally, a share that reflects the percentage of women in our global workforce.
  • Since 2010, embracing diversity has been defined as a personal competence for all our employees and leaders worldwide to ensure that everyone lives up to the principles of diversity.
  • With the project “Hire for Diversity”, BASF has designed a recruitment concept to increase diversity. The main focus lies on gender balance and internationality; respective elements are integrated in every step of the recruiting process.

Selected measures

  • Careerplus – a mentoring program for (future) leaders in active family phases
  • D+I trainings for leaders and employees, special master craftsmen (“Meister”) trainings on embracing diversity
  • “Executive Diversity” – an initiative to increase the proportion of women in leadership positions
  • Support of employee networks (Employee Resource Groups)
  • Incorporating D+I requirements into human resources processes
